Program Staff
Cabin Counselor
Cabin Counselors are responsible for the daily activities of their cabin group. Usually 10 campers per cabin with two counselors. Responsibilities include living routines, program planning and implementation. Patience, flexibility, desire to work with at risk youth are a must.
Lifeguard
Under the supervision of the Waterfront Director, lifeguards supervise and instruct campers in swimming lessons, free swim, rowing, fishing and funyaking. Responsible care and maintenance of physical property and equipment in and around the waterfront. Must hold current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or equivalent. Training is provided for successful applicants if required.
Sailing Instructor
Under the supervision of the Waterfront Director, the sailing instructor supervised and instructs campers in sailing lessons, free swim, and other waterfront activities. Responsible care and maintenance of physical property and equipment in and around the waterfront, primarily the sail boats. Must hold current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or equivalent as well as documented sailing experience. Lifeguard Training is provided for successful applicants if required.
Nature Specialist
The Naturalist is responsible for implementing and training staff on policies and procedures of the camps nature program. Also responsible for scheduling and leading cabin groups in nature activities. Outdoor experience and an ability to implement a meaningful camp nature program necessary. The naturalist will further develop the nature project manual. Must be creative, flexible, self-motivated and possess a working knowledge of outdoor educational activities.
Arts and Crafts
The arts and crafts instructor is responsible for developing and implementing the camp’s arts and crafts program. This creative person will develop an arts and crafts project manual and train staff to complete several projects with their campers. They will also schedule and lead cabin group activities and inventory and maintain art supplies. Creativity, flexibility and good time management is required.
Leadership Team
Program Director
Assist the Associate Director in planning, implementing, supervising and coordinating all aspects of the camp program. Assist in the training and act as an educator and facilitator of summer staff. Assist and oversee camper behavior management issues. Responsible for program supplies, budget and inventory. Develop and maintain Program Director manual. Supervisory and camp experience a must.
Team Leader
Team Leaders participate in implementing the overall camp program. Team Leaders’ act as a first resource for the program staff in dealing with difficult behavior issues. Team Leaders’ supervise and oversee the activities of cabin counselors and cabin groups. Also assist in the development and implementation of evening activities and special days. Must be creative, flexible, organized and possess excellent communication skills.
Waterfront Director
The Waterfront Director is responsible for planning, directing and supervising the camp's waterfront program. Responsible for the care and maintenance of physical property supplies and equipment at the waterfront. Will assist with special day/event planning as it relates to the waterfront. Current ARC, WSI and lifeguard certification or equivalent is required. Safety is a top priority, must be well organized, have good communication skills, and have the ability to supervise
Food Service Director
The Food Service Director supervises the kitchen staff. The FSD is responsible for the proper food ordering, handling and production as well as food rotation, storage and inventory control. Responsible for maintaining the kitchen, dining and storage areas. The FSD will update and maintain a FSD manual.
Health Care Coordinator
Under the supervision of a RN and on call camp physician, the HCC performs all camper screenings, provides sick calls and medical attention for campers and staff and also dispenses daily medications to campers and staff. Responsible for planning and implementing the overall camp health, safety and sanitation programs, including health record maintenance. The HCC will develop and implement a Health and Wellness Curriculum to use with the cabin groups. An organized, patient and caring individual is desired.
Behavior Management Specialist
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the BMS will be a source for all camp staff to use for dealing with prevention of difficult behaviors and will be working with campers that have challenges at camp. They will develop and implement activities that help cabins with challenging behaviors. Experience working with at-risk youth is essential. Course work in social work or related field preferred.
Support Staff
Kitchen Assistant
Kitchen assistants report to the Food Service Director and will assist with all meal and trip planning and preparation. Responsible for overseeing the dining hall seating and serving and maintaining all kitchen, and dining room equipment. This position requires strong teamwork, flexibility, self motivation and organization. Cooking experience desired.
Maintenance
Responsible for the daily maintenance of camp facilities, including repairs and improvement projects. Responsible for the laundering of camper clothing and bedding. Responsible for inventory and maintenance of all camp linens and supplies. Must be self motivated, flexible and work well independently.
