Employment OpportunitiesCabin Counselor/Floater: Cabin Counselors work in pairs and are responsible for the general care and supervision of the 10-12 campers in their cabin. Responsibilities include but do not limit: cabin cleanup, meals, and participation in program areas and activities. Qualities: Patient, Responsible, Creative, and Flexible. Team Leader: Team Leaders act as the first resource for counselors and staff. Team Leader’s oversee male/female cabin groups and staff, and deal with challenging behaviors that might arise with campers. These individuals are Leadership Staff which also assists in the development and implementation of camp special days and evening activities. Nature Specialist: The Nature Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing the camp’s nature program. This includes leading cabin groups in nature activities. The Nature Specialist will also assist with campers when not leading programming. Qualities: Patient, Organized, Creative, and Innovative. Arts and Crafts Specialist: The Arts and Crafts Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing the arts and crafts program for campers and teach counselors small projects to do with their cabin. This individual will also assist with campers when not leading programs. Qualities: Creative, Organized, Flexible, and Enthusiastic. Health Care Coordinator: Under the supervision of the ‘on call’ physician and camp nurse, this individual provides all campers’ screenings, provides sick calls and medical attention for campers and staff, and dispenses daily medication to campers’ and staff. This individual is also responsible for providing health lessons to campers. This individual is also a member of Leadership Staff which also assists in the development and implementation of camp special days and evening activities. Qualities: Organized, Responsible, Patient, and Caring. Behavior Management Specialist: This individual has a critical role at HHC. The Behavior Management Specialist is responsible for being the first resource for staff when managing difficult behaviors. This includes training counselors to work with their campers positive and negative behaviors in a therapeutic manner. This individual is also a member of Leadership Staff which also assists in the development and implementation of camp special days and evening activities. Qualities: Experience, Patience, Compassionate, and ability to process individual challenges. Aquatic Director: The Aquatic Director is responsible for planning, directing and supervising the camp’s waterfront program. Safety is top priority, so must be organized, possess communication skills and have the ability to supervise lifeguards. This individual is also a member of Leadership Staff (LS) which plans and implements camp special days and other programming. Lifeguard: Under the supervision of the Aquatics Director, lifeguards supervise and instruct campers in swimming lessons, free swim, and boating sessions. Lifeguards are also responsible for maintaining the waterfront property. Kitchen Director: Organize and manage the meal preparation and serving according to health code and standards including WI DPI. Supervise and facilitate kitchen assistants for optimal time and kitchen management. Qualities: Organization, Experience, Time Management, and Patience. Kitchen Assistant: Kitchen Assistants are to report to the Kitchen Director and will assist with meal preparation/clean up and preparation for trips or activities off site. Qualities: Ability to take Initiative, Hard Working, and Organized. Maintenance: Responsible for daily maintenance and improvement projects on camp property. These individuals are also responsible for laundering camper linens and clothing. Qualities: Ability to work independently, Responsible, Knowledge of basic repairs, and Flexible. |
