Summer Employment
Holiday Home Camp Staff is about…
….Our Mission
The mission of Holiday Home Camp is to provide quality
educational and recreational opportunities for at-risk children, youth and
families, from economically stressed communities and provide quality educational opportunities for those commissioned
to serve them.
Our mission is performed within the context of a simple
outdoor living situation. The programs are designed to respond
to the contemporary needs and issues of our campers and staff, in
order to educate and empower them. Program goals are designed
to enhance the values of self-esteem, independence, cooperative living
skills and the responsibilities of today’s world.
…..Our History
Holiday Home Camp was founded during the Fresh Air Movement of the late 1800’s. The objective was to provide an opportunity for fresh air and relaxation for the less fortunate, working poor of urban communities. Today, we continue to serve children from urban and low income communities. We provide quality recreational and educational programs for our campers, to allow our campers the opportunity to learn how to be children.
…Our Staff
Our staff comes from all over the world with various backgrounds. Our 2007 staff joined us from Hungary, England, Scotland, Kazakhstan, Russia, The Netherlands, France, Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin. Safety is a key element of our programs. Honestly is another. All of our staff that have privilege of working with our campers must respect that. Physical safety, emotional safety, and psychological safety are all paramount to the success of our programs and our campers
As a staff member at Holiday Home Camp, you will learn a great deal and you will be challenged. Do not expect an easy summer but do expect to love what you do and to never forget the faces of the children whose lives you have enhanced.
…Our Opportunities
We have several staffing opportunities that allow everyone to excel in their time as a staff member at Holiday Home Camp. We emphasize the challenges of our work because we want to be honest with you. We also want you to know that, as a member of our staff, you will have the opportunity to greatly influence a child’s life. You will have the opportunity to grow as an individual and as a professional. Please think about why you want to work at Holiday Home Camp. Be realistic about what you can accomplish and if you are up for the challenge, let’s pursue working as a team this summer.
